Why You Should Never Fear Couple Shots
Your couple photos are probably one of the most anticipated images from your wedding day, yet time and time again we find couples getting super anxious and worried over them. Usually lasting around 20 minutes the ‘couple shot’ section of your day should be the most relaxed and fun photos you have all day. But never fear, we are here with our top 12 pointers on how to never fear your own wedding couple shots!
1. Let’s bring this back to basics, why are you even doing these images? The couple shots are the main photos are you and your family are looking forward to seeing. They are there to represent the whole day in a single shot!
2. They are the photos that are going to hold the most memories. Just imagine being able to show your grandchildren your most loved up photographs in years to come.
3. Let’s get this straight! We are not here to make you look stupid.
4. No couple ever knows what they are doing during their couple shoots. Trust us! It’s a new experience for almost every couple we photograph. You’re not the only ones!
5. The more relaxed you are the better the photos will be. Just trust us and trust yourselves. If you’re happy and having fun then the images will show that.
6. Having an engagement shoot does help. We’ve got to admit, that couples that have been through a similar process in front of the camera are usually much more relaxed and not afraid of the camera.
7. They are the first time you get to have some time together as a newly married couple. So many of our couples say this to us. Drinks receptions can be quite overwhelming with continuous friends and family coming up to you. This is your first time to relax together as a married couple (with a photographer of course.)
8. You may be lucky enough to get some sunset photos. Need we say any more!
9. They are damn fun! Honestly, couple photos are usually full of laughter, silliness and smiles.
10. We take the lead from you. So don’t worry if you think you’re going to be as stiff as a board. If you are we can direct you, that’s what were trained to do.
11. Honestly, It’s just a lot of walking, talking and smiling. (Those make the best photos.)
12. Half the time you won’t even realise that we’re taking the photos. (Because those in-between-the-moment shots also make the best photos!)
