Our Top 6: Surrey & West Sussex Venues
We had such a great response last month to our top 6 Herts/Beds/Bucks venues that we thought it only fair to cover West Sussex and Surrey venues too. With Stephanie being based in Bedfordshire and Nicole in Surrey these are our two most people regions. So here are our top 6 Surrey and West Sussex venues to keep you inspired.
Weald & Downland Museum
You might recognise the Weald & Downland Living Museum for being the backdrop of the BBC’s Repair Shop, but many don’t know that you can actually hire their amazing Gridshell building. If you’re looking for a truly unique empty shell to make your own, this venue has to be the one! We were last there in 2018 with Sarah & Nick for their scorching summer wedding.
Goodwood House
Next up is Goodwood House. We have been lucky enough to photograph weddings here multiple times. The historic grandeur is second to none, this is certainly one if you want to impress your guests. You can get married in the yellow drawing room and host your reception in the elegant ballroom. Photos are from Alice & Greg and Laura & Dom’s weddings both in 2019.
Bignor Park
Bignor Park is West Sussex’s hidden gem. A gorgeous eleven hundred acre private estate Bignor holds a limited amount of weddings every year. Every time we’ve shot a wedding at Bignor the couple have chosen a different layout and location for their ceremony and reception. With so many options you can truly make your day your own. We’ve photographed Bignor Park every year so far (unfortunately this year's wedding has been postponed to 2020.) Here is a mixture of weddings we’ve shot over the years at Bignor.
Cowdray House
Cowdray house is another beautifully historic house set in Midhurst. The impressive Buck hall can seat up to 150 guests, perfect for a large wedding. The house is exclusively yours for the day, and with 22 luxury bedrooms your guests can stay late into the evening with you. We’ve shot many events over the years at Cowdray but we’re super excited to shoot our first two weddings in October this year at Cowdray.
Farbridge
West Sussex is known for its amazing modern barn venues and Farbridge is definitely one of them! We were last there with Sarah & Matt last August. Super modern white walls white walls mixture with original beams and stone windows makes us photographers happy. It’s 7 ensuite bedrooms means your nearest and dearest can stay late to enjoy the evenings antics.
Upwaltham Barns
Upwaltham is a gorgeous 3 sided courtyard style modern barn which can hold up to 150 reception guests. This well established barn caters for anything you could need and even has a hidden hillside, perfect for those golden hour shots! We were last here with Amber & Cam in 2019 shooting their gorgeous spring wedding.
